How we started
Ben Potesky is the creator of the Jiu-Jitsu Planner. A former wrestler, Taekwondo black belt and boxer, Ben took up Jiu-Jitsu after graduating college and moving to Austin, TX, to fill a void that his day job and gym routine weren't.
Ben created The Jiu-Jitsu Planner as a way to keep his life organised around BJJ. Life can throw a lot at you. Ben's job had him commuting 70 miles everyday, he blew out his MCL in class, needed to take a several month long hiatus from training, came back strong and then slipped a disk in his neck shortly thereafter. Shit happens. He quickly realized that including BJJ in his daily goal-setting, planning and journaling routine made him more productive, more focused and actually helped him create plan to stay healthy and build his hectic schedule around training. He decided to start The Jiu-Jitsu Planner to help other busy BJJ athletes keep Jiu-Jitsu in their daily routines and experience the same benefits he did.
